SGS Charitable Trust educates and empowers underprivileged children from urban slums in Bangalore and supports them till they are gainfully employed.
In Bangalore, nearly one million people live in slums, and about one third of slum dwellers fall below the poverty line. Most children are first generation literates. Poor quality of education in government schools and rising school fees year after year have led to steep dropouts at primary and secondary levels.

To create access to all the children to take up enriching/enhancing skills development activity and ensure the optimum use of available facilities.
To serve the poor and the disadvantaged communities in urban and rural areas, community development, women/transgender and children development and water and sanitation.

To enrich every child to dream of value for human life, quality education, sports, culture and achieving Nobel Prize.

Education
PROGRAMS
SGS CT aspires to address the academic need of every child. In addition to paying their fees and providing school supplies, we assess each child individually to identify core strengths and build independent study skills.
Skill Development
SGS CT provides life skills to children to enable them to effectively handle the demands and challenges commonly encountered in daily life. One on one and group counselling are also being provided to ensure emotional well- being and positive mental health of the children.
Healthcare
SGS CT in discussion with doctors to organise routine health camps such as Eye, Dental etc., and vaccination drives for Typhoid, MMR, Hepatitis B etc.
Mentoring
Professionals from various organizations mentor the senior students at SGS CT. This enables them to gain self confidence and develop employable skills. The senior students also mentor the junior children by teaching and engaging them productively.
Community Outreach
Financial literacy and independence ensure a strong foundation for building dreams. SGS CT enables every child, their mother, transgender, etc., to have and to operate a bank account.
Sports and Recreation
Physical activity increases self confidence and self esteem in children. Therefore SGS CT engages the children in activities like Yoga, Karate, Cricket, Foot Ball, etc., so as to provide a perfect outlet to keep the children active and to give them necessary skills to succeed later in their lives.
Food
With the support and assistance of philanthropist from the community, SGS CT also ensures that every poor & needy person receives nutritious food every day. Meals are served to the poor & needy on all special occasions like festivals and birthdays, including meals sponsored by some of the SGS CT members and their families.
